ONE-DAY Workshops (Spring/Summer 2008)

My ONE-DAY workshops offer you the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques, or to make something on your sewing machine in a short period of time rather than attending my regular weekly sewing workshops.

For more complex subjects my ONE-DAY workshops may actually take two days in order for us to get through everything we need to cover.

And something new this year - I shall be conducting a four-day Summer School in August to teach you how to scan in your favourite family photos and use them to create an heirloom quilt or wall-hanging.

If you fancy a day or two learning a new technique, here's the list of my planned workshops for Spring/Summer 2008:

Getting Started in Curtains and Roman Blinds (1-Day Workshops)

Saturday February 23rd

Thursday February 28th

£35

Would you like to make your own curtains and blinds that hang properly? In this workshop we will be making a small curtain or blind to allow you to get familiar with all the techniques used. If you have a small bathroom window that needs dressing you might like to make one to fit your requirements. You will need to bring along one metre of curtain-weight fabric plus one metre of curtain lining. If you are making a curtain you will also need 1 metre of rufflette tape. Please be advised that this workshop is for the hand-sewn method of curtain and blind-making – the only way in my opinion – but you will need a sewing machine for hemming the lining, attaching rufflette tape (curtains) and attaching the rod channels (blinds).
